We hadn't been to Belliou for several years but returned in July after a cold visit to the summit of the Aguille Rouge. We found a very warm welcome from a charming waitress.. It was a cold cloudy summer's day and we were the only booking for lunchtime and they had kindly still opened for us. We had 3 courses. Starters of warm goats cheese, pear, honey and walnut salad for me and carpaccio of tuna for my husband; followed by veal kidneys for me and seared tuna with vegetable tart for my husband; finished off with upside down lemon tart for me and a wonderful oozing fondant au chocolat for my husband. We had half a bottle of Chinin Bergeron to wash it down. We had a very relaxed meal, served by an attentive young lady. The chef had performed magnificently to give us well presented courses with lots of flavour. We will definitely be returning with friends in the winter.
